How do we know that you, at HostTDS, will keep our information secure?
           We at HostTDS strive to keep up to certain standards of which our customers have when it comes to the use of online purchasing. In todays society, credit card fraud is all too common. All of our order forms and our members areas are secured with encrypted SSL connections. This means that when you go to a page to order, the page is then encrypted so no one else can view the sent information on that page, and then decrypted on our side so no one is able to intercept and use that information to steal your identity.

What kind of Technologies does HostTDS use?
           We at HostTDS use the best and proven technologies to keep your information safe, online, and in a reliable manner. All of our servers are backed up nightly to secondary hard drives of which are only mounted at the time of the backup and are unmounted immidiately afterwards. This ensures that if the primary hard drive dies, we can have your accounts back online as quickly as possible. We have backup hard drives set aside pre-loaded with the servers operating system and default information ready to go so in the rare case of a failure, we can have you back online as quickly as possible.

To get further into detail with this point, Generally speaking we use all AMD Opteron base servers (a mix of single processor dual core systems and dual processor dual core systems) with a minimum of 2 gigs ram and dual 250 gig hard drives. We also limit each server to 300 accounts to help keep performance to a maximum. Reseller servers have a maximum of 10 reseller accounts per server. These are the servers that offer much greater specifications as resellers can have multiple hosting accounts.

All servers run cPanel as the client-side Web Hosting control panel. cPanel is a proven leader in the Web Hosting industry. HostTDS takes pride in having cPanel as the chosen control panel on our Shared and Reseller servers. All of our servers are loaded with PHP, MySQL, PERL, offer CGI, and come with Ruby on Rails installed as well.

What Operating system(s) do you use at HostTDS
           Having an understanding as to how our services work is a great thing. Especially since our technologies are probably most different than what you run in your home or office. Here at HostTDS, we use CentOS 4 as our operating system of choice. It is an operating of which has proven to be an extremely stable version of Linux and is highly supported by cPanel. We also have Hardware based firewalls and software based firewalls installed to help assist in the prevention of hacking attempts to our servers as well as DoS/DDoS (Denial of Service/Dedicated Denial of Service) attacks.<
